Territorial Trends in Technological Transformation (2018 - 2020, ESPON/, Sloval coordinator, The objective of this research was to provide a pan-European investigation of the territorial dimensions of current technological transformations and the transitioning of regional economies in Europe. The research develop an understanding about what the technological transformation means from a territorial perspective and examine how emerging technologies are actively (re)shaping regional economies in different geographical contexts and the territorial and structural changes they are bringing.

Universities and regional development (2015- 2018), APVV, The main goal of the project was to examine the impact of universities on the development of the regions in which they are located. The aim of the work package for which I was responsible was to analyze the way in which support policy, in particular the means of EU cohesion policy, affects the research potential of universities and, consequently, their impact on regional innovation systems.

Evaluation of Innovation Support from EU structural funds (2015 – 2017), VEGA č. 1/0098/15, main researcher. The project addressed how to support innovation in EU regional policy in the 2007-2013 programming period, focusing on both assessing the impact and effectiveness of this support and the procedural aspects that influence these results. Current theoretical and practical approaches such as e.g. The concept of smart specialization points to the fact that each region should adapt the form and content of this support to individual regional conditions. Otherwise, this support is often spent inefficiently and often leads to the so-called "Building cathedrals in the desert." The result was the identification of key factors that affect the contribution of SF support to innovation activities in these regions.

New roles of universities in regional innovation systems (2019 – 2022),VEGA č. 1/0605/19,main researcher. . Several authors identify four major concepts about the new roles of universities - the model of the business university, the model of the regional innovation systems, the Mode 2 model and the model of the engaged university. The Slovak Republic is a specific country with high economic growth and low innovation performance, which is a very specific situation, and the recognition of the functioning of universities in such a system is also a shift in international knowledge.

European dimension of knowledge generation in regions (2023 -2027),APVV, main researcher. The main goal of the project is to examine EU regions in terms of how universities create academic knowledge.Based on the created database, we will examine the spatial, structural, and networking properties of the creation of academic knowledge of universities in EU regions over a very long period. This will allow us to follow the main changes related to EU enlargement and to create a typology of EU regions in terms of academic knowledge creation.
