Teaching results:
The course is aimed at expanding the knowledge gained from the course Macroeconomics, especially in the application of already acquired knowledge to specific economic problems and their solutions. Within the course, selected macroeconomic situations are analyzed in detail with the determination of their possible impacts on other macroeconomic variables. Emphasis is placed on understanding and mastering the basic principles of the functioning of a market economy.
Knowledge:
Students gain knowledge of applied macroeconomic analysis and basic principles of the functioning of the economy. After completing the course, students are able to understand and master the application of acquired knowledge to specific economic situations, evaluate the basic macroeconomic phenomena and processes.
Skills:
a) Using empirical and quantitative approaches, students will gain the ability to assess the importance of measures taken in addressing selected macroeconomic situations, as well as to propose other measures that will have a less adverse effect on other macroeconomic indicators.
b) Active mastery of the subject will contribute to the development of analytical and critical thinking of students and to the application of knowledge gained from macroeconomics to current global challenges.
Competences:
Through the subject, they acquire both professional competences, especially in the field of analytical and economic skills, communication skills, oral and written capabilities. The acquisition of key competences means being prepared to verify the knowledge in your future practice.

Introduction to macroeconomic analysis. Defining and measuring macroeconomic variables. Global wealth. The problem of income inequality. Productivity and aggregate production function. Economic growth. Sustainable development of countries. Convergence: real and nominal. Economic integration and foreign trade. Types and effectiveness of international trade policies. External and internal macroeconomic balance. Economic cycle - measurement and indicators. The effectiveness of stabilization policy in recent recessions. Financial markets in economic analysis and economic policy. Inflation and monetary policy. Phillips curve. Labor market and employment policy.
