The aim of the course is to explain the relationship between language and politics. The student will get an idea of how to analyze applied professional language.
Knowledge:
- An overview of theoretical approaches in research on the relationship between language and politics.
- knowledge of the subject of research in political linguistics
- knowledge of the different forms of the language of politics
- knowledge of the genres of political texts, their use in specific fields
Competences:
- ability to analyse political language
- understand the forms of the way political actors use the language of politics
Skills:
- Analyse political vocabulary in different forms of political language
- analyse the language of an election campaign
- analyse the language on election posters
