Knowledge
Master the language system with emphasis on demanding and problematic grammatical phenomena. Develop and activate language knowledge and skills in the field of grammar and vocabulary, to point out at interference phenomena arising from Slovak or other foreign languages.
Skills
Develop communicative skills, broaden vocabulary and phraseology in thematic areas from everyday reality. Acquire the ability to discuss, argue, present and exchange opinions. Develop the ability to communicate fluently and spontaneously on everyday topics at an appropriate language level. Lead students to discussions, exchanging their views, to argumentation and confrontation within concrete thematic areas.
Competences
Use language skills in a flexible and efficient way, be open to culture of target language, build a positive attitude to countries and citizens of French-speaking environment and learn about culture and language through foreign media.
The aim of the subject
After completing the course, the student is able to understand in a more detailed way longer speeches and conversations. He/she is able to express himself/herself in general topics and formulate clearly his thoughts and attitudes. The student takes an active part in discussions and expresses his/her arguments and views. In a written form he is able to express his/her opinions and attitudes, logically rank them and is able to communicate on an adequate level.

1. Studying abroad. Talking about experiences. Pluperfect.
2. Work experience. Formation of adverbs.
3. Looking for a job. Job offers.
4. Curriculum vitae. Job motivation letter.
5. Job interview. Conditional sentences with present and future tense.
6. Giving advice. Imperative.
7. Subjunctive mode – forms and usage. Expressing necessity using subjunctive.

Preparation for seminars: 30 %
Final exam: 70 %

Full-time study: 78 hours. Of which:
26 hours – attendance and participation at seminars
16 hours – preparation for seminars
36 hours – preparation for the final exam
