Teaching results

Knowledge:
- Expansion of students‘ vocabulary, related to selected topics.
- Acquiring the basic knowledge concerning both the historical development of Spanish and the sources from which the Spanish vocabulary has drawn or draws.
- Gaining orientation in the context of the existing world varieties of Spanish and an overview of the Spanish language standard.
Competences:
- Boosting students’ ability to perceive the level of formality, informativeness, and accessibility of a text.
- Improvement of students’ ability to express themselves actively, in a grammatically correct and stylistically appropriate manner.
Skills:
- Development of students’ language skills.
- Emphasis is laid on the development of students’ ability to produce texts with the required stylistic parameters.
- Expansion of the practical skills in the use of grammatically correct and stylistically appropriate ways of expressing ideas, related to the topics discussed in both oral and written form.

Indicative content

- Stable phrases, idioms, phraseology and their practical use in everyday communication
- Linguistic means of formal and informal communication, differences in functional styles and their practical use in communication
- Specifications for the description of the organization of Spanish grammar
- Constant expressions, consisting of several words that are used and mastered as one whole
- Use of subjunctive, conditional
