Knowledge:
• The course is focused at deepening knowledge of the history and culture of the foreign language. Students will become familiar with the historical and cultural contexts of selected specific topics or issues.
Competencies:
• independent critical interpretation of particular historical or cultural phases in the history and culture of France;
• the ability to convey the specificities of French culture and to relate developments in the linguistic area;
• competence to lead a professional discussion on the chosen topic.
Skills:
• the ability to search for relevant professional sources on the selected topic and to elaborate them in a written or oral presentation;
• consolidation and improvement of students' language skills in professional communication in French.

- French regions and the cultural heritage of France
- Important stages in French history
- Significant stages of cultural development in France
- The development of artistic movements in France and their place in the European context
- Selected problems of contemporary cultural events in France
- Gastronomy and aspects of French „savoir-vivre“
