APVV-17-0551 Balancing out the imbalances: redifining the view on macroeconomic imbalances under the european governance framework, Member, 2018 - 2022. https://fses.uniba.sk/pracoviska/ustavy/ustav-ekonomie/vyskum/sucasny-vyskum/
Annotation of the project: The proposed research project aims to expand the current state-of-the-art theoretical knowledge in crisis prediction under the scope of the Macroeconomic Imbalance Procedure (MIP). We build on the critiques of the MIP, which have been articulated during the first few years of its application in the EU, and plan to propose its further improvement. The key findings will be generalized and, thus will also be applicable to any arbitrary early warning system. The project is divided in three interconnected work packages covering issues of definition of crisis events (i.e. identifying macroeconomic imbalances), MIP scoreboard re-evaluation, and possible room for policy action (i.e. what crisis prevention policies lie within the authority of the nation states). The most important deliverables of the project are (i) a matrix combining information on the ability of policy tools to prevent/mitigate crises and the degree of national sovereignty over these tools, (ii) estimates of internal disequilibria with financial sector included, (iii) estimates of current account and REER gaps for individual countries, (iv) estimates of external disequilibria with spatial linkages included and (v) a final ranking of variables (including composite and individual) linked to specific types of crisis events with reliable predicting capabilities.

Annotation of the project: The main goal of the project is to examine the new trends in FDI regulation and promotion over the last decade, encompassing critical current factors such as geoeconomic fragmentation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with a special focus on green transition and to come up with relevant recommendations for the Central and Eastern European Countries members of the European Union for their FDI promotion policies. The project will provide important insights into how countries can balance the need to attract FDI while safeguarding their vital interests and aligning their FDI policies with environmental sustainability and structural transformation goals.
VEGA project 1/0047/25 Analysis of Changes in the Decision-Making Process of the Young Slovak Electorate: A Case Study of the 2024 Presidential Election Results in the Slovak Republic, Deputy Principal Investigator 2025 -2027. https://fmv.euba.sk/veda-a-vyskum/projekty/aktualne-projekty/projekty-vega/939-analyza-zmien-v-rozhodovacom-procese-mladeho-slovenskeho-elektoratu-na-priklade-vysledkov-prezidentskych-volieb-2024-v-sr
The aim of the project is to identify the factors that influenced the voters’ decision-making in both the first and second rounds of the election, broken down by individual electoral districts. Special attention will be given to economic, social, and demographic factors related to the living and working environment of voters. For the group of young-generation voters, we will aim to collect the necessary data through a questionnaire survey. To ensure objective assessment and analysis of interrelationships, we will use our own analytical results based on data processed from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic.
