Teaching results
Language knowledge: To acquire basic knowledge about history, culture, politics, economy, demography, social and legal systems of Slovakia.
Language skills: To acquire the ability to communicate about current topics in the Slovak language. To understand longer professional texts with a complex structure. To be able to adequately express one’s views on the professional, covered and current topics and clearly formulate ideas and attitudes.
Language competences: After completing the course, to be able to communicate about professional topics in an international environment at an appropriate language level. To be able to apply the acquired professional and language knowledge and skills in specific communication situations.

1. Basic geographical and sociological information about Slovakia
2. Population of the Slovak Republic. Social and health security of the population
3. Education system in Slovakia and in the native countries of students
4. Political system of the Slovak Republic. Elections in Slovakia
5. Economy of Slovakia
6. Natural beauties and tourism in Slovakia
7. Slovakia in international organizations
8. Media and their role in the field of international relations and international cooperation
9. Culture and art in Slovakia
10. Important personalities of cultural and social life
11. Holidays, traditions and family customs in Slovakia
