Language knowledge: The aim of the course is to convey basic knowledge of a foreign language at the A2 level. After completing the course, the student understands familiar expressions from everyday life and basic phrases aimed at satisfying specific needs and can also use them.
Language skills: The student knows how to read simple texts, understands common vocabulary in topics from everyday communication, understands basic information and the main topic of written and spoken speech. He can communicate in simple situations, ask simple basic questions and answer them, he is able to talk about everyday topics, express consent and disagreement, ask for information and also provide it. In written communication he can fill in a simple form, write a short e-mail, postcard and a simple letter or a message.
Language competences: The student is open to the target culture, to people speaking the target language, within certain topics compares the German speaking environment with Slovakia.

Indicative content:
- Berlin. Verbs with 3rd and 4th case
- Orientation in a town. Prepositions of place
- Description of a room. Possessive pronouns in 1st and 4th case.
- Machines and equipment. Prepositions of time.
- Plans and goals in professional and private life. Modal preposition.s and the verb “wollen” .
- Parts of the body. The imperative and the verb “sollen”
- House chores. Personal pronouns in the 4th case.
- Professions, appearance and characteristics. Past tense of verbs with separable prefixes.
- Rules in transport and the environment. Verbs “can” and “must”.
- Clothes and fashion. Adjective gradation and comparison.
- The weather. Causal conjunction “denn”, prepositions with 3rd and 4th case.
- Holidays, customs. Ordinal numbers, “würde + infinitive” structure.
