Teaching results

By finishing the course students will obtain following knowledge:
- complex and deep knowledge in the field of evaluating macroeconomic and microeconomic aspects, regulation and theoretical approaches to international business and international economic integration,
- understand the particularities of international business related to integration processes,
- understand recent developments and trends for international business in the European integration area.
Students will obtain following skills:
- ability to learn actively and to get information from primary and secondary sources about economic integration processes as well as ability to analyze and assess them critically,
- ability to use creatively the particular knowledge and information to formulate the research question in a scientific project,
- ability to use creatively the particular knowledge and information to solve the research question in a scientific project,
- ability to formulate new conclusions and recommendations for relevant parties,
- ability to work independently, as well as in team.
Students will gain following competencies:
- ability to express and communicate own findings and opinions in a professional discussion as well as in a written form (the scientific project should be prepared in the form allowing its publication at national or international level),
- responding and reasoning in a scientific discussion,
- critical and analytical thinking in the changing conditions for international business in integration environment,
- based on synthetical thinking, drawing conclusions useful for international business in international and European integration environment.

Indicative content

Concerning the content, this course is focused on key topics for the realization of international business in the international integration environment. In the course are involved topics like:
• The characteristics of integration processes at the macroeconomic and microeconomic level, their comparison.
• The current state and the perspectives of their development.
• The operation mechanism.
• Legal regulation.
• Effects of economic integration from the international business perspective.
• The particularities of international business in the European integration area.

• Theoretical concepts and approaches in the field of economic integration with respect to international trade and business. • Integration processes at macroeconomic and microeconomic levels. • Development, characteristics, and comparison of integration processes in globalized economy. • Multilateral and regional regulation of integration processes. • Economic effects of integration processes. • Integration processes in the European area from the international business point of view. • Trans-border business transactions within the European integration environment. • Trans-border business transactions directed outwards the European integration environment.

Requirements to complete the course

active participation at consultations: 20%
submitting scientific project (written form): 40%
defending scientific project (oral form) in a professional discussion: 40%
