After completing the course, participants will be able to:
− Define key terms related to sustainable jobs in the green economy;
− Describe the social, environmental and economic benefits of supporting the creation of sustainable jobs in the green economy;
− Provide examples of successful initiatives and projects in the area of creating sustainable jobs in the green economy.
Skills
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
− Identify which jobs can be considered sustainable within the green economy concept;
− Understand the key role of employment in creating synergies between the three pillars of sustainable development and the green economy;
− Identify cases of greenwashing;
− Recognize several key international, regional, national and local initiatives to support the creation of sustainable jobs in the green economy;
− Describe the skills that need to be developed during the transformation of existing jobs and
the creation of new sustainable jobs in the green economy.
Competencies
After completing the course, participants will be able to:
− Identify the potential for the development of sustainable jobs at different levels of economies;
− Apply the concept of sustainable jobs in the real economic, policy context and/or personal development;
− Expertly discuss and propose practical solutions for the creation of sustainable jobs in the green economy.

Indicative content

The course is focused on various aspects of sustainable jobs development within the green transition of the European Union economy in accordance with the primary goal of the European Green Deal, which is to achieve climate neutrality by 2050. Students will gain practical insights into how to create more high-quality jobs that can be considered sustainable jobs in the green economy.
