The aim of the subject is to make the student informed with the corpus linguistic discipline and with options of using the corpus analysis method.
Knowledge:
By means of completing subject, the student will gain enough knowledge about corpus linguistic as a language discipline, knows and can use the terminology of this scientific discipline adequately, and has general overview about existing types of corpus and specific corpus, mainly from Slovak but also from Czech, English, and German language environments.
Competencies:
Student is able to identify and assess options (but also borders) of using corpus, in other words, methods of corpus analysis and is able to adapt this method for the needs of accomplishing concrete research aims.
Skills:
After accomplishing the subject, the student is able to work with the corpus tools and use them effectively in the praxis, in other words, in the context of depicturing problematics of own dissertation topic.

- Corpus linguistics as a part of the language disciplines and terminology of corpus linguistics
- The term corpus, types of corpus, chosen existing corpuses
- Options of managing corpuses: method of corpus analysis, corpus tools, searching in corpus, assessment of found data
- Working with corpuses in the context of realization of specific research aim
