• Knowledge:
The aim of the course is to prepare students to work with specialized language in the field of law, to acquire and develop knowledge of legal Spanish. Students learn precise legal terms and established phrases (fraseología jurídica) that are essential for the correct interpretation of Spanish legal regulations and contracts.
• Competencies:
Students will be able to identify and correctly apply Spanish legal terms in the areas of civil, commercial, criminal, and labor law. They will be able to understand legal texts of appropriate difficulty, distinguish between general and legal language, and correctly use legal terms with regard to differences between legal systems. At the same time, they develop analytical and argumentation skills and critical thinking.
• Skills:
Students will gain knowledge about the structure and methodology of writing legal texts. They will be able to break down complex Spanish legal sentences into comprehensible logical units without losing legal meaning, apply their language skills to specific legal situations, and translate basic legal texts from Spanish into Slovak and vice versa. They will be able to use specialized dictionaries, terminology databases, and legal sources correctly.

The concept of law, sources of law.
Division of law, public law and private law.
The state and law, the constitutional system of Spain. The court system in Spain.
The legal system of the European Union.
Commercial law. Commercial companies under Spanish commercial law. Commercial contracts.
