Knowledge:
Students will master basic terminology in the field of language culture at the level of theoretical linguistics. They will be able to use theoretical knowledge of lexicology to identify literary (correct) and non-literary (incorrect) expressions in spoken and written expression.
Competences:
- development of competence in the use of professional normative language, especially in academiccommunication of oral and written nature,
- creation of the competence necessary to master the linguistic proofreading of a professional textwith the help of codification manuals.
Skills:
- the acquisition of professional skills in finding and assessing information in linguistic manualsand dictionaries to check the correctness and suitability of language units in the written text,
- in accordance with the orthoepic standard, skill in writing different texts representing basic rhetorical genres,
in the field of reading academic texts, rhetorical skills to present a text in accordance with theorthoepic standard of the language.

Orthoepic and orthographic norms in the Slovak language

Style-forming characteristics of academic writing. Training in the production of texts of a professional nature
