Knowledge:
• Acquiring basic knowledge about the present day of Russia from the point of view of literature and culture.
• Knowledge of historical-cultural contexts in the current time-space.
• Getting to know important figures of contemporary Russian history, visual arts, theater, film and music, and architecture.
Competencies:
• Acquisition of foreign language communication competence in cultural studies.
• Developing openness and tolerance towards different contemporary cultures and their understanding, as well as removing prejudices towards contemporary cultures and the history of other countries.
Skills:
• After completing the course, students will be able to interpret selected current history and culture of Russia in their own words in a foreign language.
• The ability to discuss selected current topics, convey the specifics of the current culture of the given country.
• Improving students' language skills in professional communication.

Final evaluation: 60%

Student workload

Full-time study: 104 hours. Of which:
26 hours – attendance at seminars
30 hours – preparation for seminars and for the interim evaluation
48 hours – preparation for the final exam
