• A comprehensive view of the enterprise and its economic activity through the definition of the essence of the enterprise, its life cycle, its objectives, its typology, its transformation process with special attention to the analysis of enterprise production factors, enterprise activities and value relationships.
Competence:
• Effectively use essential information about the enterprise as a business entity, its basic characteristics, objectives, forms of associations and legal forms of business in practice,
• critically evaluate the course and specifics of the enterprise transformation process,
• characterize the essence and evaluate the use of enterprise production factors with an impact on the enterprise's value processes,
• propose solutions and defend conclusions or recommendations to increase the efficiency of corporate activities.
Skill:
• Interpret the specifics of business entities, critically evaluate the possibilities of choosing the legal form of business,
• analyse the phases of the enterprise life cycle,
• perform basic business analyses in the areas of human resources, business assets, costs,

Thematic definition of lectures: 1. Definition of the essence and basic features of the enterprise. The enterprise as a goal-oriented system. 2. Enterprise life cycle and managerial decisions in individual stages of the enterprise life cycle. Dissolution of an enterprise with and without liquidation. 3. Typology of enterprises and characteristics of individual criteria of typology and their use in economic practice. Enterprise pooling and competition protection. 4. Enterprise transformation process. Gutenberg's measurable value approach, elements, phases and spheres of the transformation process. Porter's approach to primary and cross-cutting corporate activities. Human resources of the enterprise. Staff selection as a factor influencing the outcome of work. Creation of optimal working conditions and corporate social services, their impact on worker performance. Remuneration of workers. Broader and narrower contexts of the formation of wage resources. Selected parts of labour legislation. Principles of remuneration. Forms of wages, advantages, disadvantages, wage structure. 5. Labour productivity, nature and indicators of labour efficiency, factors of labour productivity growth. Combination of factors of production of manufacturing and non-manufacturing enterprise. Determination of the need for workers by the method of standard hours, the method of standards of service and places served in connection with decision-making on measures aimed at rationalizing the number of workers. 5. Calculation, prerequisites for the introduction, advantages and disadvantages of time, task and share wages. Supplementary forms of pay. The price of work. 6. Determination of labour productivity and assessment of this indicator in relation to the indicators of the efficiency of assets and equipment of workers with assets, enterprise imbalance, measures aimed at maintaining the desired proportions between these enterprise indicators. 7. Valuation and depreciation of assets under the Income Tax Act, under the Accounting Act, assessment of the excess component and its impact on the tax base. Criteria for the selection of depreciation methods in relation to the objectives of the enterprise's depreciation policy. Depreciation calculations and their significance. 8. Static and dynamic structure of current assets. Current asset norming: norming of production inventories, work in progress and finished goods. Calculation and evaluation of indicators of the use of non-current and current assets. Management of current assets. 9. Impact of capacity utilisation on total costs. Reaction coefficient, interpretation of its value. Decision making on increasing the volume of production in relation to cost efficiency indicators. Zero point analysis and its use in managerial decision making. 10. Balancing purchasing needs. Planning, determining and deciding on the size of supplies. Determination of signal inventory levels. 11. Semester knowledge check. Calculating production capacity and the impact of its use on the bottom line. 12. Dynamics of turnover.
