The main objective of the subject "World Economy" at the 3rd level of study is deepening knowledge and conducting analysis in combination with extensive interdisciplinary knowledge from several fields of study. It will serve as a basis for research and development, formulation of solutions to economic and legal problems and the creation of new scientific knowledge in international economic relations. After completing this doctoral course, doctoral students will develop analytical skills to assess the peculiarities of historical development, the current state and forecasts of further development of individual regions of the world economy. Another result of the course will be the ability to evaluate the weight of individual aspects of economic development of regions, political context, economic conditions and the impact of human resources in the region.
Knowledge:
• In-depth knowledge of economic, legal and political contexts of shaping the development of development trends in the regions of the world economy
• Ability to comprehend the causes of specific development tendencies in the most important regions
• Ability to critically evaluate the share of individual factors influencing the development, especially in the three centres of economic power, and in China and India.
Competencies:
• To search for and analyze information from various scientific and other professional and specialized sources, on the issues of the world's most important regions
• To carry out research at an appropriate level of qualification work
• To design and implement a specific research project.
Skills:
• To design proposals and justifications for data analysis and research methods for specific projects
• To formulate the scientific conclusions based on understanding and predicting broader contexts

Historical peculiarities of the formation of individual regions of the world economy. The essence of the formation of the North American economic region. Specifics of US development. Specifics of the formation of the Latin American economic region. Economic development of Brazil, Argentina, Mexico. Specifics of the development of Asian economies. The European Union. The special position of developing countries in the world economy.

1. Historical peculiarities of the formation of individual regions of the world economy 2. The essence of the formation of the North American economic region 3. Specifics of the formation of the Latin American economic region, the impact of natural resources, human resources and the conditions of involvement in the international division of labor from a historical and in terms of further development perspective 5. Economic development of Brazil, Argentina, Mexico 6. Specifics of the development of Asian economies - with a special focus on Japan, China, the newly industrialized countries of Southeast Asia of the first and second wave of industrialization 7. The European Union - specific to its formation, the current problems of economic development and cooperation between the member states of the European Union 8. The special position of developing countries in the world economy, the causes of lagging behind, the prospects for further development

The final evaluation is based on the elaboration of the project plan (40%) and the final work (60%).
