Co-investigator in APVV-15-0765: Inequality and Economic Growth (2015−2020). Following the main goal of the project, to contribute to the elucidation of the relationships between economic inequalities and economic growth the following new (main) results have been achieved. The development of the new economic inequalities indicators, which takes into account explicitly the situation of the low income groups; looking at the causes of income inequalities the new results are related to the impact of worker´s mobility, immigration, flexibillity of the labour market, participation at the global value chains and digitalization of the economy; we provided new and deeper insights into the negative impact of economic inequalities for the accumulation of human capital and consequently for economic growth based on non-parametric approach to the analysis.
Co-investigator in APVV-18-0425: Pharmacies Entry and Competition in Regulated Markets: Evidence from Slovak pharmacy market. The aim of the project is to explore the competition, entry and regulation in the pharmacy market in Slovakia. It approaches the subject from the perspective of research in Industrial Organization that has successfully investigated the context in which firms strategically make entry and exit decisions, deter entry of rivals to retain market power over time and reduce competitive pressure, and eliminate competitors in the market.
Principal investigator in I-20-105-00: Economic and Social Implications of Automation and other Forms of Technological Progress (2020). The aim of the research project is to define, examine and possibly quantify the economic and social implications of automation and other forms of technological progress. Like many authors who are currently working on this much-discussed issue, we focus on the impact of technological progress on employment and income inequality. However, the loss of stable and relatively well-paid jobs, uncertainty and the disappearing middle class also have significant social implications. We analyze these, as well as possible other areas, especially in the conditions of Slovakia or other European countries.
Co-Investigator in the MIT Seed Fund for Slovakia (2022/2023) project "Labour market implications of automation in the United States and the EU", which aims to measure the wage and employment effects of automation on the labour market in selected EU countries. This is a research collaboration with the Department of Economics at MIT (Boston, Massachutes, USA) under the supervision of Professor Daron Acemoglu.
Principal investigator in the VEGA project No. 1/0781/21: Industrial Policy under the Conditions of Deindustrialisation and Automation. The aim of the project is thus to deepen the state of knowledge in fields of deindustrialisation and automation and examine their possible impacts on the economies of developed countries including Slovakia and contribute to the formulation of modern economic policy.
